Each unit in this apartment is provided with a double view: the vast green golf course and the scenic view of Surabaya. This is a luxury that most other places of living don’t have. Like a sheet of brick wall erected. That’s The Adhiwangsa Golf Residence. This apartment, standing above the Lenmarc mall in West Surabaya, has a very flat shape. This thin, elongated shape is clearly visible especially when viewed from the north or south side of the building, making it unique. As an apartment, The Adhiwangsa is indeed different. Not because of its flat shape, while most apartments are thick rectangles. This residence is special because each unit has two equally attractive views: the 18-hole Bukit Darmo Golf Course with eight lakes created by renowned golf course designer Jack Nicklaus II, and views of the city of Surabaya.
However, the elaboration is not over. Because in some corner units, the views that residents of the 46-story apartment can enjoy are enhanced. The north side unit, for example, in addition to the two views already mentioned, can see the Suramadu Bridge that connects Java and Madura Islands in the distance. Meanwhile, the south side unit has an additional view of the beautiful houses from other properties scattered around The Adhiwangsa. Piter Gan, The Adhiwangsa’s architect, explained that all of these special features began with a very brief brief submitted by the developer to build an apartment complex with all units overlooking the golf course. Naturally, all units are prime, none are second class. This is in accordance with the target market they want to reach: the upper class with a high lifestyle. After studying the uniqueness and advantages of the project site in more detail, Piter Gan then further developed the developer’s program into a design. But this architect who graduated from Kansas University, United States, wanted to provide something more. Because not only each unit, but all the spaces within the units were designed to face the golf course.
So a floor plan was drawn where the main rooms such as the living room, dining room, bedroom and master bedroom, were placed on one line facing the golf course. Meanwhile, the kitchen and dining room could be made open, so that when cooking residents could still enjoy the unobstructed view. Meanwhile, the bathroom, wardrobe and service area were placed on one line on the west side of the unit. So these rooms also have views that are no less beautiful than the living room or master bedroom: the city of Surabaya. This makes all the spaces in each unit of this 46-story apartment, receive the same amount of sunlight and have good air circulation. Arie Soeripan, Marketing & Communication Manager of PT. Bukit Darmo Property, developer of The Adhiwangsa Golf Residence said, in addition to these advantages, apartment residents can also enjoy several facilities located on the 5th floor of the apartment or the upper part of the mall. These facilities include: a swimming pool, tennis court, spa and fitness center, children’s playground, barbecue area, shopping mall, as well as a lobby and private elevator.
It’s a crucial component that supports the comfort and privacy of residents. The comfort and privacy of apartment residents are highly prioritized. This is evident in the way developers regulate the flow of both residents and visitors to the apartment. Residents, for example, only have access to their respective apartment units. Even if residents want to meet, they must first go through the lobby, just like guests. Similarly, if they want to shop or just browse the mall, apartment residents cannot simply go down and stop at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th floors, where various household goods and lifestyle products are displayed. They must go down to the lobby, exit, and then walk to the mall lobby. Mall visitors, on the other hand, have no access to the apartments at all.
The Adhiwangsa itself is the only apartment in Surabaya equipped with private and semi-private elevators and is designed with a single corridor where the units do not face each other. The concept of one floor, one elevator is implemented, among other things, to ensure the safety of its residents. Essentially, to ensure the privacy of those living in this highest apartment in Surabaya is truly maintained. Further details about the Adhiwangsa apartment design concept can be found in an interview with architect Piter Gan in Indonesia Design magazine’s 33rd edition of High End Apartments, which features six exclusive Indonesian apartment buildings.
